About the artist:
  Esther Peretz-Arad was born in Bulgaria in 1937 and came to Israel as a child. Peretz-Arad learned under Aharon Avni and she is well known for her sketches. One woman shows: 1959 Helena Rubinstein Museum 1966 Hermitage Museum, Lenigrad 1972 Artists House Jerusalem Mishkan Leomanut Holon 1980 Yad Lebanim, Herzlia 1984 Yad Lebanim, Petach Tikva 1986 Yad Lebanim, Arad 1987 Gordon Gallery, Tel Aviv 1988 Cameri Theater, Tel Aviv She has won many prizes including the Dizengoff prize in 1956. She excels in graphics and drawings in a very individualistic and characteristic style that she has developed over the years. She works in various mediums of the plastic arts oilm watercolors, pastel, etchings, lithographs, collage and she sculptures in bronze which she studied with Itzhak Danziger. Her style is figurative and she derives the inspiration for her works from nature while her main interest is in the linear aspect - the quality of the line, the color and the flowing composition.
